Welcome to our new website in development!

We are an inclusive arts organisation working in Lancashire

No Label Arts CIC is based in Lancashire and was founded by our Director Samantha Blackburn in 2016. We are a Community Interest Company and not-for-profit limited company governed by four Directors: we are a Disabled-led organisation with 75% of our board identifying as Disabled people.

Over the last five years, we have delivered a series of visual and performing arts projects in partnership with Lancashire and London based Disability Arts organisations and where possible, employing Disabled artists and consultants to deliver our work.

We have also presented touring work by international professional Disabled artists and delivered good practice for accessible venues workshops for artists and venue managers.

So, What've We Been Up to in 2020?

One Work Placement

For the first time in our company’s history, we have had the pleasure of ‘virtually’ hosting a work placement theatre student – Ruth Stuart – Ruth is in her final year of a BA (Hons) degree course in contemporary theatre based at the University of Central Lancashire. Ruth has participated in several of our online professional development sessions with England and Cambodia based arts companies ‘We Are Epic’ and ‘Epic Arts’. We would like to thank Arts Council England for providing access funding for Ruth’s brilliant British Sign Language interpreter Kay McCrea.

Organisational Development

Over this summer and autumn, the inclusive arts organisations ‘We Are Epic’ and sister organisation ‘Epic Arts’ have delivered a series of online organisational development sessions with us – we have learned about board development, branding, inclusive theatre making and developing Disabled artists and workers which will put us in good stead going forward.

We’re getting ready to offer you some online arts activities to enjoy – but what would you like to see?
Let us know by email: samantha@nolabelarts.org.uk, or give us a shout on social!

2020 has been an unprecedented year for us all and has presented arts organisations such as No Label Arts, who work with Disabled and disadvantage people, the challenge of being unable to offer in-person quality arts experiences. Therefore, we would like to take the opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to Arts Council England, the National Lottery, Curious Minds and the University of Central Lancashire’s European Union ERDF Uniteplus project fund for supporting us in 2020; your funding has enabled us to work behind the scenes to develop and sustain No Label Arts during this challenging year.

As a visitor to our website, please do get in touch if you are interested in working with us in the future – we are planning to develop a new theatre group when we are able to work in-person once again and would love for you to contact us should you be interested in getting involved as either a partner organisation, participant or supporter.

Wishing you a prosperous 2021 – from all of us at No Label Arts,
David, Linda, Samantha and Julia.
